The CSL ship, Iron Chieftain caught fire on the 18 June 2018 at Port Kembla Steelworks Berth 113. The fire continued to burn for several days and NSW Fire and Rescue declared the fire as being extinguished on 24 June 2018.

The fire-fighting water and material used was largely contained on board the vessel (and has subsequently been removed), but Berth 113 has not been used to load or unload material since the fire, which has added to congestion on other berths.

Over the past 6 months, the remaining dolomite cargo on board was discharged.
